David Johnson, a 2023 graduate of MATC’s Diesel program, recently competed in the Technology & Maintenance Council’s (TMC) National Technician Skills Competition held by the American Trucking Association in Cleveland, Ohio.

Johnson’s skill and expertise garnered him a 1^st place win in the Preventive Maintenance Inspection portion of the competition, where he was awarded a plaque and gift card to help him with this career.

Johnson secured his spot in the national contest by placing in the Oklahoma Future Tech Competition, which was held in May 2023.

A ‘Big Thank You’ goes to Johson’s sponsors, Mark Winchell with Whiting Systems, George Arrants with the ASE National Headquarters, and Bonne Karim with the Oklahoma Trucking Association. These individuals and their companies covered all the expenses of Johnson’s trip to Ohio.
